Spicy Superette Italian Sub at Hilltop Superette in Portland, Maine

I finally made it to the Atlantic Ocean after starting at the Pacific last week, and while I was in Portland, Maine I picked up an Italian sub sandwich at Colucci's Hilltop Superette.

The sandwiches are made to order using thinly-sliced deli meats. I ordered the Spicy Superette which included hot peppers and oil over provolone, mortadella, spicy ham and hot capicola. The sliced pickles are a nice touch!

This sandwich is just as good as it looks. The bread and meat are very fresh, and the layers work well. Very filling, too.

There's plenty of deli items and also a market to pick up anything else you need for lunch or picnic. Hilltop Superette is close to the bay where you can enjoy your picnic and watch the boats.
