Floating Islands at Terre Hill Family Restaurant

"Come Eat" at Terre Hill Family Restaurant in Lancaster County
"Come Eat"
It seems like many of the restaurants in Lancaster County's Amish Country are buffets, and I wasn't up for that much food today. Instead, I tracked down a place where the locals eat, and it seems like I was the only tourist there. Read my full review of Terre Hill Family Restaurant in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania after the break.

Terre Hill Family Restaurant looks small from the outside, but it's quite large inside, with several dining rooms and a counter. Today was Friday and the special was fish, but I had already decided on the Floating Islands. Why? First because of the name, and second that is exactly my kind of food: big, basic, and delicious.

Floating Islands
Floating Islands is two grilled hot dogs covered with mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese. Hearty and tasty. It really hit the spot after a morning of walking around.

Coconut Cream Pie
There was a large selection of pies supplied from a nearby bakery, including Amish shoofly pie.

If you want to escape the crowds and visitors while you are touring the Amish Country, be sure to drop by Terre Hill Family Restaurant.
