Pint night at Dad's Kitchen in Fair Oaks, California as seen on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives |
Burgers and beer make a great combination, and we tried them both at Dad's Kitchen in Fair Oaks, California (near Sacramento). Read my full review with pictures after the break.
The night before, my friend and I sampled the
kicked-up British pub fare at Stirling Bridges. Tonight, we decided to try the kicked-up diner fare at Dad's Kitchen
as seen on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
Dad's has two locations: one in Sacramento and one in Fair Oaks (just outside of Sacramento). We went to the Dad's Kitchen in Fair Oaks for dinner. The Fair Oaks location is newer and decorated with beer signs and diner memorabilia.
And we picked the right night!
It was pint night and we got to keep our souvenir beer glasses for only a couple of bucks more.

Dad's Burger at Dad's Kitchen |
I had the
Dad's burger which is a half-pound hamburger patty covered with bleu cheese and bacon, and served with fries and pickled onions. It was very good.

Standard burger at Dad's Kitchen |
My friend had the standard burger, which is a little smaller than the Dad's burger and without the blue cheese but just as tasty. The brioche bun was a nice touch.
The service was very good. Our waiter made frequent and friendly visits to our table, and kept our pint glasses full. And the manager came by and asked us about our burgers.

Inside Dad's Kitchen in Fair Oaks, CA |
There's a
full and lively bar, and covered patio seating, too. Dad's seems like it will be a great place to enjoy a beer on a hot Sacramento night.
