After already trying the lunch and dinner, it was time to try the Sunday breakfast soul food buffet brunch at Souls Restaurant in Oakland, California. Read my full review with pictures after the jump.

This morning we went to the Sunday breakfast buffet at Souls Restaurant. It starts at 9AM however when we got there just after 10, they seemed to be just putting out the food. So I'm glad we didn't get there at 9.

The waffles, pancakes, and french toast are ordered and brought to your table. Everything else is at the buffet line, which is served to you.

The waffles were the star of the buffet. They are cooked to order, thin, and very crispy. Delicious and perfect under a piece of fried chicken. And speaking of fried chicken, it's only the wings, so if you have a preference for a breast or thigh, you will be disappointed.  But remember, it's all you can eat, and you don't have to wait, and for only $12, this is the best chicken and waffles value around.

The buffet line includes scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, grits, pork sausage (patties and links), home fries, and fruit bowls.

The bottom line: If you like chicken and waffles but not the wait or the expense of other places, then the Sunday breakfast buffet at Souls Restaurant is for you. For a better overall soul food buffet experience, go for Souls Restaurant's Sunday dinner buffet.
