The Old Coffee Pot Restaurant in New Orleans' French Quarter

Old Coffee Pot Restaurant in New Orleans
Continuing on our walking guided food tour yesterday with Tastebud Tours, our next stop was The Old Coffee Pot Restaurant in New Orleans' French Quarter.

There is some covered seating, and a patio courtyard further back with murals of the history of the French Quarter and New Orleans.

Gumbo with shrimp and sausage at The Old Coffee Pot in New Orleans
First up was a sample of gumbo. (Please note: we were on a food tour, so this was a sample, and I'm sure if you visit this place you will receive a larger portion with your order.) It had shrimp and sausage, and was a little spicy. I liked it.

Jambalaya at The Old Coffee Pot
Then we got a sample of jambalaya.

Our tour guide told us the breakfast is even better, and that Old Coffee Pot makes a good stop if you need a quick bite after wandering around the French Quarter with one too many plastic cups of Hurricane.
