World Famous is the name of Sparky's green chile cheeseburger, and you can say it really is world famous -- it's on the 2016 USA Today Top 10 Best New Mexico Green Chile Cheeseburgers! So check out my full review with lots more pictures after the jump.

Even before I took my first bite, I was amazed with how delicious this burger smells. The char-grilled aroma filled the air and made the burger hard to resist.

There's no condiments here. No mustard, mayo, lettuce, onions, or tomatoes. Just mild green chiles, American cheese, and the patty.

And of course the chiles are grown right here in Hatch, New Mexico. Did you expect something else?

Cooked to order. I got medium.

You get to pick a side with your World Famous. I picked the green chile corn. It was sweet, spicy, and creamy. I loved it.

You've got to really like green chiles to get this shake. It's got green chiles all mixed in, and sprinkled on top.  It reminded me a lot of the green chile sundae at Caliche's (also here in Alamogordo).

TIP! Sparky's is closed Monday to Wednesday. Check out their hours (and live music schedule) at the Sparky's web site. You can also like Sparky's Facebook page.

TIP! Sparky's can get a little crowded, so get there early. There's plenty of indoor seating and also some covered picnic tables. You won't really mind the wait, though -- the crowd is really friendly and most of them are here on a return visit.  Sparky's is that good!

Hatch is a fun town to visit. There's plenty of places to stop and buy chiles, souvenirs, and snacks. Enjoy the scenery, too -- the chiles are turning red on the vine, and there's pecan trees and cotton fields, too. The Rio Grande runs right along town. Las Cruces is only about 30 minutes away. A great place to stop for chiles and souvenirs is Chile Express.
