I'm making my through the Green Chile Cheeseburger trail in New Mexico. And today, I got to try another of the 2016 USA Today Top 10 Green Chile Cheeseburgers at Owl Cafe in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Find out how it tasted and see more pictures after the jump.

Top 10 Green Chile Cheeseburger at Owl Cafe in Albuquerque, New Mexico

This green chile cheese burger deserves its spot in the Top 10. It's called the Owl Burger, and it's a large patty with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, slices of onion, pickles, and mayonnaise. It's grilled well done (which I prefer) and it's very juicy. Ask for some extra napkins!

The side salad is nearly as big as a dinner plate

I didn't really have room for it, but the way the waiter described it, I had to try the pumpkin pie shake. It's not actually a slice of pumpkin pie mixed into a shake (like it is at some other places), but it's still delicious. It's graham cracker crust, cinnamon and nutmeg mixed into a lot of ice cream, and topped with whipped cream, caramel, and candy corns. And it is served with plenty of leftover milkshake, too. Delicious!

There's plenty of booths and counter seating inside, and there's covered tables outside.

No mention of Owl Cafe is complete without pointing out how great the service is. The staff is very friendly and attentive. There's a mix of locals and traveling foodies, and the staff is friendly to them all. No wonder it was so crowded early on a Tuesday night.

The original Owl Cafe is in San Antonio, New Mexico (it's still there) but it's the one in Albuquerque that has the unique building.
