Steaks in Jail at the Cellblock Steakhouse in Ely, Nevada

Ely, Nevada is at the end of the Loneliest Road in America -- Highway 50. Miles and miles of two-lane highway through the Great Basin. You will hardly see any other cars which makes it so lonely.

Located in Ely's (it's pronounced ee-lee) Jailhouse Casino is the Cellblock Steakhouse. Each table is in its own jail cell. It makes you feel like you're back in the Old West.

But how's the food? Excellent! We started with the spinach salad which was fresh and crisp. For some reason we were expecting something less, since here we were in the middle of the desert. The salad was topped with bacon and cheese.

My daughter had the the hickory-smoked prime rib. Very unique and very tasty.

I ordered the Gunslinger which is a New York steak. Cooked precisely to order and an excellent cut. It came with a twice-stuffed potato which is is packed with cheese and made this a fantastic meal.

There are not a lot of places to eat in this small town, but who cares when you can stop at the Cellblock Steakhouse!
